Dear Valued Industry Partners,

We have made it to the end of yet another eventful week! Whether checking out the exciting Open House events at Town Center, catching the live entertainment at the Oceanfront, or simply resting and recharging, we hope you have a wonderful weekend.

It was good to see many of you this past Tuesday during the VBHA’s general meeting which the CVB was honored to host at our beautiful Sports Center. Thanks to Diana Burke and Stacey Shiflet for their presentations, and to our sports tourism partners who were in attendance as well. We appreciate the industry's support of sports tourism in  Virginia Beach  and the opportunity it brings for our destination.

According to Destination Analysts there is some good news to report too. Financial sentiment is steady. Male travelers are feeling more positive, exhibiting greater optimism and commitment to their travel future. More vaccinations will come, as nearly a quarter of unvaccinated American travelers say they will get a COVID-19 vaccine this year. Despite the lessened excitement, many Americans are still planning Fall travel. Over half of American travelers expect to take one or more overnight leisure trips in the next three months, with 23.9% reporting trip plans for September, and 26.1% for October.
