National Travel & Tourism Week
National Travel & Tourism Week begins this Sunday. From May 1 - 7, communities all across America are planning to celebrate the value travel holds for our economy, businesses, and personal well-being. My team and I are thrilled to be putting the final touches on our local awards luncheon and program. At this writing, we are preparing to host almost 400 “hospitality heroes” on Thursday at the Convention Center. Thanks to all of you who submitted nominations and registered their teams to attend this event, which is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to thank your staff for all they do.
Latest American Travel Sentiment Research from US Travel
According to US Travel, about six in 10 Americans are planning at least one summer trip. Despite higher gas prices, of those planning vacations, 35% expect to travel MORE this summer than last. This is great news for our coastal destination as we are positioned within a day’s drive from nearly two-thirds of the US population.
