JACKALOPE is a vibrant, three-day festival famous for its unique atmosphere and high-adrenaline action sports, including skateboarding, bouldering, breakdancing, and BASE jumping. On June 2 – 4, 2023, the festival will be held on the beach at Neptune's Park at 31st Street in Virginia Beach.
Tony Hawk, the legendary skateboarding pioneer, will showcase his skills alongside other renowned skaters such as Mitchie Brusko, Collin Graham, Reese Nelson, Tom Schaar, Elliot Sloan, and Bucky Lasek.
JACKALOPE brings together Canada's action sports communities, including top athletes and professionals in the featured sports, as well as enthusiasts and the curious.
The JACKALOPE excitement started on March 24th in Venice Beach, CA, as skateboarder Chad Caruso from Long Island, NY, embarks on his cross-country journey to the first edition of JACKALOPE in Virginia Beach.
Covering a distance of 3,000 miles, Caruso aims to raise awareness about addiction among youth and will reach Virginia Beach just in time for the brand-new edition of JACKALOPE.
"JACKALOPE is the largest event of its kind in Canada. By bringing our concept to Virginia Beach, we become the only event of its kind to operate on both sides of the border," says Micah Desforges, founder and president of TRIBU, which produces JACKALOPE.
“We’re thrilled about JACKALOPE making its U.S. debut in Virginia Beach and look forward to all the excitement it brings along with it,” said Nancy Helman, Director of the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“Our city not only has the best weather this time of year but has an amazing collection of hotels, restaurants and activities for visitors coming to be a part of the action. We know you’ll have a great time, and we look forward to hosting an amazing event that spotlights the energy brewing in our seaside city.”
