Happy New Year! We hope you and yours had a wonderful and restful holiday season. As we set our sights on the year ahead, we're hitting the ground running here at the CVB with a busy couple of months to kick-off 2022. 

Don't Miss the Action at the Sports Center this Month

Beginning this weekend, the competition will be heating up at the Virginia Beach Sports Center with the Atlantic Coast Club Indoor Track & Field Winter Relays and the Hype Nation Volleyball Tournament. Following these events, we have several days of local league play as we gear up for the excitement of the Virginia (VA) Showcase 2022. Known in amateur athletic circles as the best track and field meet in the nation, VA Showcase is symbolic of what track and field is all about. Designed to draw athletes from every skill level, the Showcase offers both invitational and regular events. In five years, this invitational has produced 10 national records, five Under-20 (U20) world records, and a staggering 100+ first-place performances. Spectators will enjoy watching more than 220 teams from up and down the mid-Atlantic vie for titles and personal records in a variety of track and field events. From local high school teams to athletes from schools as far away as Rhode Island and Miami, it’s sure to be an exciting, action-packed weekend.

VB Will Welcome Over 50 Travel Writers in February for the STS 2022 Domestic Showcase

Speaking of exciting, it's all hands on deck at the CVB and Convention Center as we fine-tune the details of our host opportunity for the upcoming 2022 Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Destination Showcase. More than 300 conference delegates and 50+ travel writers will tour, immerse and “live the life” in our coastal city between Feb. 13 - 15. This is our time to shine and showcase our amazing destination. I encourage our restaurant partners to sign up for the conference attendee “dine around” evening which takes place on Feb. 15. Known for our culinary delights, we’d like to see many options available for our guests. The link to the Dine Around form may be found here.
