Happy Friday!
Later today, Elliott Ferguson, Chairman, U.S. Travel Association, will update city officials and members of the resort community on the status of the tourism economy and share insights on the importance of diversity and inclusion within the hospitality industry.
Ferguson is a 30-year veteran of the travel and hospitality industry. He currently serves as National Chair of the board of directors for the U.S. Travel Association, a national, non-profit organization representing all components of the travel industry that generates $2.6 trillion in economic output and supports 15.8 million jobs. He is also the President and CEO of Destination DC leading their efforts to generate economic opportunity for the district through meetings and tourism.
We are looking forward to hearing Elliott present, and tapping into his depth of experience within the tourism industry. As we look to strengthen our position and rebound from this pandemic, the knowledge he brings will help ensure we’re on the right path to emerge nimble enough to weather the new travel landscape.
Sincerely,
Bill Hanbury, CVB Executive Advisor
